The Worst Form Of Tyranny

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”

British writer C.S. Lewis (1898-1963)

Brushfires of Freedom

“It does not take a majority to prevail … but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.”

Samuel Adams

What About The Poor

“I am for doing good to the poor, but I differ in opinion of the means. I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it.

In my youth I travelled much, and I observed in different countries, that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer.

And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer.”

Benjamin Franklin

Add It Up

“[A] wise and frugal government … shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned.

This is the sum of good government.”

Thomas Jefferson

Where Will “We” Draw The Line

“I consider the foundation of the Constitution as laid on this ground that ‘all powers not delegated to the United States, by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states or to the people.’

To take a single step beyond the boundaries thus specially drawn around the powers of Congress, is to take possession of a boundless field of power, not longer susceptible of any definition.”

Thomas Jefferson, Opinion on the Constitutionality of a National Bank, 1791

“But as the plan of the convention aims only at a partial union or consolidation, the State governments would clearly retain all the rights of sovereignty which they before had, and which were not, by that act, EXCLUSIVELY delegated to the United States.”

Hope & Change

Father,

God bless all my friends and loved ones in whatever it is that You know they may be needing this day! And may their life be full of your peace, prosperity and power as he/ she seeks to have a closer relationship with you, this I pray in the Name of your Son, My Lord, Jesus the Christ. Amen.

Individual-State-Federal

“Each State, in ratifying the Constitution, is considered as a sovereign body, independent of all others, and only to be bound by its own voluntary act.

In this relation, then, the new Constitution will, if established, be a FEDERAL, and not a NATIONAL constitution.”

James Madison, Federalist No. 39

But Who Holds The Title

The plan, officially known as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act but more accurately known as the American Socialization and Redistribution Act, is Obama’s ruse to confiscate from taxpayers — and borrow primarily from the Red Chinese — almost a trillion dollars, then redistribute it to his constituents through government-controlled conduits.

As George Bernard Shaw wrote, “A government which robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul.”

Pass It On

“Honor, justice, and humanity, forbid us tamely to surrender that freedom which we received from our gallant ancestors, and which our innocent posterity have a right to receive from us.

We cannot endure the infamy and guilt of resigning succeeding generations to that wretchedness which inevitably awaits them if we basely entail hereditary bondage on them.”

Thomas Jefferson

Passing down slavery. What a horrible thought.

After the death in thousands of battles for freedom, to just surrender without a fight.

Not just surrender, but teaching by example and word how to live in slavery.

I for one find the thought hateful. How to live free is not a hidden teaching, hundreds of internet voices, radio programs and even TV can be found on a regular basis.

WHO put you in bondage?

If you think about it, it was YOU. By making one bad decision at a time.  Choosing the path well followed will nearly always lead to bondage. Do you have an excuse? Put it on the table, if you dare. Look at it. Is it worth the lives of your children and grandchildren?

What’s Wrong

“[A] good moral character is the first essential in a man…. It is therefore highly important that you should endeavor not only to be learned but virtuous.”

–George Washington

Have our leaders overlooked something?

What each of us True Americans deserve from our Government.

“Equal laws protecting equal rights; the best guarantee of loyalty and love of country.”

–James Madison, letter to Jacob de la Motta, 1820
